Social Services Children & Young People Level 3 & Level 4

The Social Services Children & Young People Level 3 & Level 4 course is the recognised qualification to work with children and young people and meets Scottish Government registration requirements for childcare workers with the SSSC.

How Do I Apply?

SAAS Grant Application: Along with your application form you also need to download and complete a SAAS grant application form and get your employer to complete the SAAS certification of income form or provide three copies of your latest payslips. If you are not employed then complete a SAAS self-employed form. 20 year old plus must be employed or find a voluntary placement themselves to be eligible for application. Please contact us for support to complete the grant form.

When we receive your forms you will be invited for an information session interview date at our Edinburgh or Glasgow office. Successful applicants will be informed.

A date for your induction session to start the qualification will be arranged.

SVQ LEVEL 3

This SVQ is suitable for: 20 year olds plus who are currently in employment and who wish to obtain a formal qualification.

The target audience for the SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) are people who are practitioners in early years settings, childcare settings and residential/daycare for children and young people. It is a requirement by the SSSC that everyone employed in this capacity should be working towards achievement of this qualification if they don’t already have an accepted SSSC qualification.

SVQ LEVEL 4

This SVQ is suitable for people who are employed in the childcare sector in a senior and/or management role. It is one of the accepted qualifications with the SSSC that everyone employed in this capacity should have achieved or be working towards achievement of this qualification if they don’t already have an accepted SSSC qualification.
